Leading a research project? Apply for grant funding
Residents, fellows and medical students who are leading basic science, applied or clinical research projects are eligible to apply for up to $2,500 in funding as part of the AMA Foundation's Seed Grant Research Program.
The program provides junior investigators with financial resources and professional development to encourage young physicians to pursue careers in medical research. Grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded in the following three categories: cardiovascular/pulmonary diseases, HIV/AIDS and pancreatic cancer.
Applications are due Dec. 5.
IHI guide focuses on preventing obstetrical adverse events
Learn about the important elements in preventing obstetrical adverse events—including the safe use of oxytocin and key evidence-based care components in the IHI Perinatal Bundles, known as IHI Elective Induction Bundle, IHI Augmentation Bundle and IHI Vacuum Bundle—with the help of a new guide from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). The guide describes how to implement these interventions and recommends measures to gauge improvement.
Access to the guide requires free online registration with IHI.
