AMA website garners national awards for outstanding design, content

A leading communications group has recognized the AMA website for its design and quality health care content.

At the 16th annual Healthcare Internet Conference Nov. 14, the AMA website received a platinum award for best site design and a gold award for best health content, both in the health care association and professional society category.

"The AMA strives to be a resource for physicians and patients by providing timely information and updates in an easily accessible format on our website," AMA President Jeremy A. Lazarus, MD, said in a news release. "We are very pleased to receive these awards in recognition of our website's design and content, and will continue to update and improve the way we deliver critical information through our online resources."

More than 1,100 health care websites were entered for the 2012 eHealthcare Leadership Awards program, which assigned ratings based on a standard of Internet excellence and how the websites compared with others in their classification group.
