AMA-WPC election begins soon
Help the AMA Women Physicians Congress (WPC) fill two physician vacancies as well as resident and student positions on the group's governing council by voting in this year's governing council election. An encrypted ballot will be emailed to AMA-WPC members on April 9. Email the WPC by April 2 to ensure that the group has your email address.
The election will close at midnight Central time April 23. If you have questions about the election, contact Cynthia Norwood of the AMA via email or at (312) 464-4743.
Annual AMA-WPC meeting to include session on negotiation and the gender divide
Discuss the challenges and opportunities facing physicians seeking to demonstrate their value during a presentation June 16 in Chicago during the AMA Women Physicians Congress (WPC) Annual Assembly Meeting.
Sara Laschever, co-author of the book "Women Don't Ask: Negotiation and the Gender Divide," will present "Negotiation and the gender divide: The power to get what you really want." The session follows an education program about physician pay disparities and strategies for eliminating them that took place in November during the Interim Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates.
The AMA-WPC meeting is held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates.
