AMA-SPG program to cover senior physicians' role in the community

AMA-SPG program to cover senior physicians role in the community

If you'll be at this year's Annual Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates, then plan to attend the AMA Senior Physicians Group's (SPG) education program and luncheon titled, "Advocacy with your elected officials: the senior physician's role in the community," at noon Central time June 16 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

The program will point to ways senior physicians can make a difference in their communities through advocacy and by lobbying legislators at the local level. Physicians can earn continuing medical education (CME) credit in the form of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for participating.

Registration is encouraged. Email Alice Reed of the AMA to register.

Senior physician liaison meeting set for AMA Annual Meeting

The AMA Senior Physicians Group (SPG) will hold the next meeting of its state representatives June 16 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago during the Annual Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates.

Representatives serve as liaisons to their states' delegations on issues pertinent to senior members.  These meetings are attended by an increasing number of senior physicians from the House of Delegates, one third of whom are members of the AMA-SPG. Representation can enhance the effectiveness of the group and promote sharing of concerns with other delegates.

The meeting will follow the AMA-SPG education program and luncheon titled, "Advocacy with your elected officials: the senior physician's role in the community."

For more information or to verify a contact member for your state, contact Alice Reed of the AMA via email or at (312) 464-5523.
