Webinar covers contracting under new payment models

An AMA webinar at 1 p.m. Eastern time Aug. 28 will explain what physicians need to know about new systems of payment known as "budget-based" models before signing a managed care contract.

The third in a new AMA series, the webinar will be presented by experienced health law attorneys who will describe the key issues associated with new systems that pay according to the value of medical services, rather than the number of services provided. New systems discussed in the webinar include capitation, bundled payment and shared savings arrangements.

Participants also will learn about tools from the AMA that can help them thrive under these new payment arrangements. Register today.

Additional webinars in the series will take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month. Each webinar will examine timely contracting issues to help physicians succeed in today's evolving health care system. Topics include new contract provisions, new payment models and physician rights under managed care contracting laws. Webinars will be archived for on-demand viewing.
