September summit to celebrate AMA-IMG Sections 15th anniversary

Help mark the founding of the AMA International Medical Graduates (IMG) Section by attending the AMA-IMG Summit, which will take place Sept. 21–23 at AMA headquarters in Chicago. The summit, a 15th anniversary celebration for the AMA International Medical Graduates (IMG) Section, will recognize the history of IMGs in American medicine and examine their future in light of physician workforce reforms, federal budget cuts and reductions to graduate medical education financing.

Learn more about the IMG Summit and register to attend. AMA-IMG Section members may register at the discounted rate of $150; nonmembers may register for $180. Registration fees include registration materials and light meals.

Participate in this year's AMA Research Symposium

International medical graduates certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and awaiting residency have a unique opportunity to showcase their original research during this year's AMA Research Symposium.

The symposium, which will take place Nov. 9 in Honolulu as part of the Interim Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates, annually attracts some of the brightest young minds in medicine. In sharing their research, symposium participants can enhance their presentation skills, earn recognition from their peers and build their curriculum vitae.

In addition, physicians are needed to serve as judges during the symposium. As judges, physicians have a chance to provide advice and support to tomorrow's physicians. Learn more about the symposium.
