News for International Medical Graduates
Submit AMA policy resolutions by Sept. 1
Members of the AMA International Medical Graduates (IMG) Section are invited to submit policy resolutions for consideration during this year's AMA-IMG Section's Interim Assembly Meeting. Resolutions are due Sept. 1 and must be related to advocacy. Guidance on writing a resolution is available online.
The AMA-IMG Section meeting will take place Nov. 9–12 in Honolulu in conjunction with the Interim Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates. Meeting registration information will be posted on the AMA-IMG Section Web page in the fall.
September summit to celebrate AMA-IMG Section's 15th anniversary
Help mark the founding of the AMA International Medical Graduates (IMG) Section by attending the AMA's IMG Summit, which will take place Sept. 21–23 at AMA headquarters in Chicago. The summit, a 15th anniversary celebration for the AMA-IMG Section, will recognize the history of IMGs in American medicine and examine their future in light of physician workforce reforms, federal budget cuts and reductions to graduate medical education financing.
Learn more about the IMG Summit and register to attend. Many major medical organizations and stakeholders are sponsoring the event either directly or in-kind, including the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Federation of State Medical Boards, Kaplan Medical and others.
