With focus on its new strategy, AMA set to shape a better future for health care

A brief new video shows how the AMA is leading medicine to a future that’s better for patients, physicians and the nation. The video offers perspectives from physicians and medical students about the AMA’s role in medicine today and in the future.

Having reached its 165th anniversary earlier this year, the AMA is celebrating its long history but looking to the future. The AMA’s strategic plan announced in June positions it to make a lasting impact on some of the most important issues in health care.

The AMA's five-year strategic plan, outlined in a recent speech by AMA CEO and Executive Vice President James L. Madara, MD, aims to ensure that enhancements to health care in the United States are physician led, advance the physician-patient relationship, and ensure that health care costs can be prudently managed.
