Instructions for letter writers

Send letter now

American Medical News welcomes letters to the editor. Letters for publication should be less than 300 words and are subject to editing for length and clarity. If you are writing in response to a particular article, please mention the headline and issue date in your letter.

To send a letter about any story online, simply use the "Respond" button at the top of the article.

You also can submit your letter via our convenient online form.

Incomplete forms will not be accepted by the system. Please list a response for every question, including personal contact information. While we do not publish street addresses, email addresses or telephone numbers, we do verify authorship, as well as try to clear up ambiguities, to protect our letter-writers. The form will prompt you if it detects any blanks.

This form is only for letters intended for publication. For other types of inquiries about American Medical News, use the handy links below.
