Initiatives by discount store chains to sell generic drugs at lower prices could influence what type of medications adults buy and where.

According to a Wall Street Journal Online/Harris Interactive Health Care Poll, 93% of adults buy prescriptions, and most would choose generics if available. The survey was conducted after Wal-Mart Stores Inc. started discounting selected generics in some areas. The margin of error is 3% and numbers are rounded.
