Doctors are going digital

Percent of physicians say they:
Use search engines to find medical information online 95%
Have high-speed Internet connection at home or work 90%
Access blogs, Webcasts, streaming video and podcasts online 76%
Own personal digital assistants, smart phones or other mobile computing devices 52%
Have iPods or other portable music players 37%
Use the Internet during patient consultations 22%

Physicians are increasingly using Internet technologies in their practice or at the point of care.

According to a survey by Manhattan Research, a New York-based market research company, 99% of the country's practicing physicians use the Internet. The telephone survey of 1,250 practicing physicians, released in April, has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8%.
