Hospital errors generate spectrum of concerns

Americans are worried about being on the receiving end of mistakes when they enter a hospital, according to a recent Harris Interactive/Wall Street Journal poll.

The survey of 2,847 adults found that most Americans were confident that new standardized procedures would help prevent surgical errors, but they are still wary of a hospital's ability to prevent medication and diagnostic errors.
