Young breast cancer survivors more likely to face problemsWomen diagnosed with breast cancer in their late 20s and early 30s were more likely to have a lower quality of life over the long term, according to a study in the November Journal of Clinical Oncology. Researchers at the University of California, Los Angeles, surveyed nearly 600 women who were younger than 50 at the time of diagnosis about their emotional, mental and physical health as well as their outlook on life and sexual activity. Women in the study were doing well, but those ages 25 to 34, tended to be more likely to experience persistent fatigue and poor emotional functioning.
