FSMB honors three physicians
Dallas -- Physicians from South Carolina, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania were honored by the Federation of State Medical Boards for their involvement in medical regulation and discipline.
Harold Jervey Jr., MD, of Columbia, S.C., received a lifetime achievement award for a three-decade career with the federation, the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates.
Robert E. Porter, MD, of New Hampshire, received the Distinguished Service Award, given annually to recognize outstanding leadership and services to the fields of medical licensure and discipline.
L. Thompson Bowles, MD, PhD, president of the National Board of Medical Examiners, received the Dr. John H. Clark Leadership Award, given annually to an individual who is committed to advancing the public good and medical licensure and discipline at both the state and national levels.
