AMNews goes to full text online
Chicago -- American Medical News has joined the ranks of print publications offering full text online. Starting this year, AMNews began putting all news articles, features and editorials on its Web site. Opinion columns and letters to the editor are to be added in the coming months.
"This will provide our online readers with more content than ever, as well as the ability to search for articles from past issues," said Web Edition Editor Benjamin Mindell.
Once posted, content is not removed from the site. AMNews hopes to retroactively replace the existing partial offerings for recent years with full text.
"There is an abundance of news sources on health care, but AMNews offers a unique mix of coverage on the governmental, professional, social and economic forces affecting medicine today," Mindell said. He noted that the list of subscribers to AMNews' weekly e-mail alerts reflects a broad spectrum of medical and health-regulatory backgrounds. Sign up for the alerts is available free at the Web site.
