This policy guide represents an effort by the American Collage of Preventive Medicine - American Medical Association National Coalition for Adolescent Health to bring together policies, position statements and advocacy activities that address alcohol use and adolescents.
Adolescents and Health Care Disparities Reading List

Through a HRSA Maternal and Child Health Bureau cooperative agreement, Partners in Program Planning for Adolescent Health (PIPPAH) the AMA convenes meetings of its AMA Educational Forum on Adolescent Health. The forum on Nov. 6, 2003, featured discussions of youth drinking patterns and alcohol advertising.

Through a HRSA Maternal and Child Health Bureau cooperative agreement, Partners in Program Planning for Adolescent Health (PIPPAH) the AMA convenes meetings of its AMA Educational Forum on Adolescent Health. The Nov. 14, 2002, and May 16, 2003 forums featured speakers on the topic of adolescent obesity, nutrition and physical activity.
Delivering Culturally Effective Care to Adolescents
This AMA publication provides an overview of communication strategies for interacting with young people and their families. Chapter topics include: the elements of culture, adolescent development, determining cultural effectiveness and special issues. In addition a glossary of key terms, resource organizations and a bibliography are included.
Youth Bullying
The AMA has produced the proceedings from the AMA's Educational Forum on Adolescent Health that featured the topic of youth bullying behaviors. The publication is intended to help stimulate further attention, research and action related to youth bullying by professionals who interact with young people.

This publication was developed as a resource for physicians who are interested in actively supporting the national health objectives. The resources in this publication include information on available data and activities, identification of stakeholders, and communication materials and ideas.
Youth and Violence Medicine, Nursing, and Public Health: Connecting the dots to prevent violence
The Commission for the Prevention of Youth Violence developed this report in December 2000. The report identifies the role of health care professionals and others in violence prevention and intervention, and provides a specific action agenda.
