Rapid Process Improvement Initiative
Congratulations on taking the first step toward continuous practice process improvement. The process improvement initiative does not need to be an arduous process. Simply taking on a rapid process improvement project that takes minimal time can put your practice on the right path.
Practice management encompasses all aspects of the physician practice. In this first initiative we have designed a Practice Assessment document addressing four domains: Business Operations, Practice Connectivity, Collections and Patient Satisfaction. This instructional video will get you on track to exceed practice expectations in 2012 with the steps of the AMA Rapid Process Improvement Initiative.
Take the practice assessment to assist in identifying potential areas of rapid process improvement projects that the practice may choose to explore.
Be sure to print or save your survey as survey results will not be saved online.
After you take the survey, the Guidance Tool will link to corresponding educational resources and tools to assist the practice in defining the issue. Once defined, you can create goals specific for the practice in order to begin pursuing enhanced efficiencies.
If you answer “yes” to various questions, congratulations, you have succeeded or exceeded. Please refer to the Guidance Tool as a refresher.
If you answer “no,” please read the Guidance Tool to find your opportunity for enhanced operational efficiency. Choose one or more domains to work on.
Analyze your results from the assessment survey to guide you in choosing a rapid process improvement project to conduct within your practice.
To apply for a certificate of accomplishment based on your results, submit the application form and any additional supporting documentation to the AMA Practice Management Center Rapid Process Improvement Program Coordinator.
We would also like to post a description of your project as you have detailed it above on our program website. If you agree to allow the AMA to post this information, please complete the consent form and submit it with your application.
There are three ways to submit the application detailing the results of your RPI project.
