The AMA-convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement® (PCPI®) posts measure sets and guidance documents for review and comment during the 30-day public comment period. The PCPI solicits feedback from PCPI members, quality improvement collaboratives, providers, consumers, public/private purchasers and others with an interest in the measure set.
Available for Public Comment: A Toolkit for Outcome Measure Development
The PCPI is initiating a 30-day public comment period for a newly developed toolkit for outcome measure development.
The PCPI Outcome Ad Hoc Committee, under the leadership of Patrick Romano, MD, MPH, developed this toolkit to assist users with the development of outcomes measures relevant to their specialty or topic area. The toolkit is intended to provide guidance for the most significant obstacles to outcome measure development and for those areas in which outcome measurement is distinct from process measurement. The toolkit includes a discussion of several key issues that are particularly relevant to outcomes measurement and recommended ways to address them.
The 30-day comment period begins on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 and will close at 5 p.m. Central time on Thursday, Feb. 19th, 2015. Please feel free to share this document to others within your organization or constituency who may offer insight and expertise. All comments are welcome and will be compiled and shared with the Outcomes Ad Hoc Committee for consideration.
