Committees

Measure Advisory Committee

The Measure Advisory Committee (MAC) will advise the PCPI Executive Committee on matters related to performance measures and support activities related to the PCPI measure development methodologies. Examples of activities that may be undertaken by this committee include:

  • Advise on strategic priorities related to the PCPI’s performance measurement work
  • Provide expertise in measurement models and methods
  • Assist in engaging the PCPI membership to enhance their role in clinical quality measurement
  • Guidance related to implementation of PCPI measures in health IT systems, including EHRs and registries
  • Communicate the value of the PCPI’s performance measures and methodologies to PCPI members, physicians and health care professionals, and other health care stakeholders
  • Monitor status and review results of measure development specification and testing projects

Quality Improvement Advisory Committee

The Quality Improvement Advisory Committee (QIAC) will advise the PCPI Executive Committee on matters related to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of the health care delivery system and support activities related to the PCPI QI Program. Examples of activities that may be undertaken by this committee include:

  • Create annual goals and metrics for the PCPI QI Program
  • Provide expertise in improvement models and methods
  • Gather and share knowledge of the improvement landscape to enhance the PCPI’s understanding of current status
  • Assist in engaging PCPI membership to enhance their role in improvement
  • Monitor status and review results of QI projects
  • Assist with the development of a systematic process to assess and improve PCPI member satisfaction with the PCPI QI Program
  • Communicate the value of the PCPI QI program to PCPI members, physicians and health care professionals, and other health care stakeholders.

Outcomes Ad Hoc Committee

The Outcomes Ad Hoc Committee is designated by the Executive Committee of the American Medical Association (AMA)-convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement® (PCPI®) and charged with building upon the framework developed by the Measures Development, Methodology, and Oversight (MDMO) Advisory Committee titled “Recommendations to PCPI Work Groups on Outcome Measures.” The Outcomes Ad Hoc Committee, under the direction of the PCPI Executive Committee, is charged with:

  • Assisting in the creation of a toolkit to use as a starting point for the development of outcome measures;
  • Identifying high-priority outcomes relevant to a variety of specialties/topic areas;
  • Delineating pathways to collect outcomes data (e.g., administrative data, registries, surveys, patient-reported data or questionnaires, electronic health records);
  • Additional activities as approved by the Executive Committee that support the outcomes measurement efforts of the PCPI and its members.
