Quality Improvement Resource Guide
This resource guide was developed to accompany the Ethical Force Program’s Organizational Assessment Toolkit, Improving Communication—Improving Care. This guide can serve as a “next step” for organization’s that use the toolkit to identify areas of strength and weakness in organizational performance. The included interventions are organized according to the content areas assessed in the toolkit. In addition, the areas for improvement are those that the Ethical Force Program found to be common areas of need during the toolkit’s field testing stage.
The goal of this guide is to help health care organizations identify small, practical steps that they can take to improve how leaders, staff members, patients, and community communicate with each other.
Many of the interventions and products listed in this guide are feely available online. However, listing in this resource guide does not imply an American Medical Association or Ethical Force Program endorsement of the intervention or product.
This document is a work in progress and we know there are many more useful interventions that health care organizations might want to use to help improve the effectiveness of their communication performance.
