Stark Law Rules

The Stark statute and regulations (collectively referred to as the "Stark Law") can restrict physician referral patterns and the types of business relationships into which physicians may enter. The AMA Stark Law Rules of the Road is an interactive tool that helps physicians understand the main aspects of the Stark Law.

The AMA Stark Law Rules of the Road includes:

A basic 6-step interactive guide to help physicians acquire an introductory knowledge of the Stark Law

A more extensive document that provides details on key requirements and exceptions to the Stark Law, and highlights areas where physicians retain flexibility

A short feedback form to allow physicians to voice comments and feedback on this resource

Access to an AMA professional for clarification or questions about the law.
