Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI)
The American Medical Association (AMA)-convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement® (PCPI) is committed to enhancing quality of care and patient safety by taking the lead in the development, testing, and maintenance of evidence-based clinical performance measures and measurement resources for physicians.

About the PCPI
The PCPI is comprised of more than 170 national medical specialty societies, state medical societies, the American Board of Medical Specialties and member boards, Council of Medical Specialty Societies, health care professional organizations, federal agencies, individual members and others interested in improving the quality and efficiency of patient care. The 23-member Executive Committee of the PCPI has broad representation. PCPI Advisory Committees address issues related to measures implementation and evaluation; measure development, methodology and oversight.
Join the PCPI
Membership is open to any organization or individual committed to health care quality improvement and patient safety, and that participates in the development, review, dissemination, or implementation of performance measures and measurement resources. To join the PCPI, please complete and return the appropriate application form and the Profile and Material Interest Disclosure Statement.
- Organization membership application for organizational membership. Member organizations may appoint a primary, alternate, and a staff Representative.
- Individual membership application for an individual not representing an organization.
If you are already a PCPI member organization and need to update your representaion, complete and return the organization representation update form. The PCPI membership applications and update form include an updated PCPI Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy that enhances the transparency of the PCPI processes, helps to assure PCPI work products are developed objectively, and is consistent with relevant COI standards and guidelines. All PCPI members must submit a completed Profile and Material Interest Disclosure Statement and otherwise abide by the PCPI COI Policy.
