AMA Applauds Congress for Taking Action to Address Veterans’ Access to Medical Care

For immediate release:
Aug. 1, 2014

Statement attributed to:
Robert M. Wah, MD
President, American Medical Association

"The American Medical Association (AMA) is pleased that Congress has taken action to ensure veterans can access the health care they need in a timely fashion outside of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

"The AMA believes that all Americans should have timely access to health care, especially those who bravely serve our country. Our nation's physicians can and should be a part of the solution to ensure America's veterans can access the care they need and deserve.

"We support the legislation passed tonight because it is an important step to connecting veterans with physicians who can help them right now."
