AMA Website Wins Platinum, Gold eHealthcare Leadership Awards

Washington – The website of the American Medical Association (AMA), the nation's largest and most influential physician organization, has been honored with two 2012 eHealthcare Leadership Awards. The AMA received a Platinum award for best site design and a Gold award for best health content, both in the health care association/professional society category.

"The AMA strives to be a resource for physicians and patients by providing timely information and updates in an easily accessible format on our website," said AMA President Jeremy Lazarus, M.D. "We are very pleased to receive these awards in recognition of our website's design and content, and will continue to update and improve the way we deliver critical information through our online resources."
These are the thirteenth annual eHealthcare Leadership awards presented by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends, a leading industry resource published by Health Care Communications. The awards program recognizes health care organizations' outstanding websites and digital communications, with ratings based on a standard of Internet excellence and how they compare with others in their group classification.

A total of 115 individuals familiar with health care and the Internet evaluated the 1,100 entries in this year's competition. The awards were presented in Las Vegas on November 14 during the Sixteenth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference.
