Create a list of non-member prospects

As a Physician Outreach Recruiter you will receive a CD-ROM of non-member prospects based on your selection criteria. At any time, you can modify your list of non-member physicians according to specialty, geographic area (city, zip code, county or state) — or request a list of residents in your area.

You also can send us your own list of colleagues within your group practice or speciality with whom you have personal contact. Your personal contact list must include the physician's first and last name, address, and birth date or ME number.

We'll match your list with our database and send you back a list of those physicians who are not yet AMA members.

To submit or request a list, please contact Alyce Christensen by e-mail or at (312) 464-5324.

Connect With Your Colleagues

Here are just a few ways you can turn your passion for the profession into meaningful action to increase AMA membership.

  • Find ideas for recruiting--plus current flyers, advocacy accomplishments and more--on the recruiting materials page.
  • Get on the agenda for resident orientations and hospital staff meetings.
  • Use your electronic prospect list to create a mailing.
  • Talk to residents during your teaching rounds.
  • Keep colleagues up-to-date with summaries of key resolutions from the Annual and Interim Meetings.
  • Submit a summary of AMA accomplishments and activities in your local medical society newsletter.
  • Let your alma mater know exactly how much the AMA Foundation has donated to the state and their school.

Chart Your Progress

In May and August you will receive activity reports that match the names on your non-member prospect list with new AMA members. Simply place a checkmark next to the people you have personally contacted. If you've contacted additional physicians, include their names, addresses and identifiers such as birth date or ME number to receive recruiting credit.

Earn Awards

You receive credit based on the number of members you recruit--then select a gift certificate for various incentives, such as AMA Bookstore products, resident AMA sponsorships and much more.

Awards are based on the following point values:
Each new physician recruited earns you 300 points.
Each new resident recruited earns you 100 points.
Each new student recruited earns you 50 points.
