USAN Council's statement on the use of USAN as domain names:

A name published by the United States Adopted Names (USAN) Program in the USP Dictionary of USAN and International Nonproprietary Names, and posted on the USAN Web site, shall be the effective equivalent of an intellectual property right on the part of the relevant entities.
