Federation Repository of Ethics Documents Online (FRED)

The Federation Repository of Ethics Documents Online (FRED Online) is a collection of full-text Codes of Ethics and ethics-related policies provided by state and specialty medical associations in the AMA's Federation.

We have defined a "Code of Ethics" broadly as any statement from an organization that expresses its values, whether its values are contained in a separate ethics section or through an organizational mission statement, compliance rules, statements of rights and responsibilities, principles, pledges, or in other ways.

FRED provides convenient, one-stop access to the full-text of Federation members' Codes of Ethics and ethics-related policies. Because the collection provides an unparalleled opportunity to compare policy, code language and content across state and national medical professional associations, it can be used to inform ethics policy development and ethical medical practice
