Resident Income and Debt Relief

The average medical student graduates with approximately $120,280 in student loans, leaving most residents and young physicians overwhelmed by excessive amounts of student loan debt. Through its extensive advocacy efforts, the AMA has taken a leading role in expanding loan deferment and forbearance for residents.
