The Section continues to assume an increasing role in the development of AMA policy of concern to medical schools, including education, patient care, and clinical research.

Since July 1978, the Section has introduced over 90 resolutions that the AMA House of Delegates has adopted as AMA policy. These resolutions are directly related to specific concerns and interests of medical school faculty.
