AMA to Business Week: The AMA's proposal

April 28, 2008 (published)

Business Week
Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

The recent survey showing growing physician support for national health insurance draws attention to the need for reform ("Most Docs Favor National Health Insurance," bw.com, Mar. 31). The American Medical Association has a national health-reform proposal to cover the U.S.'s 47 million uninsured. It expands coverage through tax credits that would provide the most money to those who need it most: lower-income Americans.

Sincerely,

Edward Langston, MD
AMA Board Chair
