Summit Influenza Immunization Tools for Providers


This Web site was created to serve as a resource for any health care provider administering influenza immunizations. It brings together various web sites as well as various tools that have been created.

Please use the information here to help you increase your influenza immunization rates. Remember that the ACIP recommends giving influenza vaccine through January and beyond, as long as vaccine is available.

State initiated toolkits

National organization toolkits

The American Medical Directors Association has a toolkit titled "Immunizations in the Long Term Care Setting" to assist the initiation and implementation of activities to address and prevent influenza and pneumococcal disease in LTC facilities.

National Foundation on Infectious Disease (NFID) - Influenza for Health Care Professionals (Sub site of the NFID's web site has many resources for delivering influenza immunizations, including their "Kids need Flu Vaccine Too!"

National Foundation on Infectious Disease (NFID) - Call To Action: Influenza and Kids with Asthma (web site with many resources on the need to vaccinate children with asthma).

This tool from sanfi pasteur provides answers to frequently asked questions from providers regarding billing for influenza vaccination and also provides the codes that should be utilized when billing a payer.
