Council on Constitution and Bylaws

The AMA Council on Constitution and Bylaws was established in 1950. It serves as a fact-finding and advisory committee on matters pertaining to the Constitution and Bylaws; recommends such changes in the Constitution and Bylaws as it deems appropriate for action by the House of Delegates; and
serves as advisory to the Board of Trustees in reviewing the rules, regulations and procedures of AMA Sections. AMA Bylaws contain provisions specific to the AMA Council on Constitution and Bylaws.

There are several options for printing the complete AMA Constitution and Bylaws:

  • AMA Constitution and Bylaws - includes actions from I-07 meeting (PDF, 959KB)
  • PolicyFinder - updated following each Annual and Interim meeting
(AMA Bylaws can be downloaded as a zip file in either Word XP format or in PDF format)
  • AMA Proceedings of the House of Delegates - The proceedings are the official record of all actions taken by the House of Delegates and contain complete text of reports and resolutions which are the bases for AMA policy. Meeting proceedings are posted on the web site as they become available.
