Marketing the AMA

The 2008 Partnership for Growth (PFG) establishes guidelines for developing coordinated marketing programs with the AMA. In addition, it offers valuable co-marketing support.

As we face our membership futures together, the AMA is committed to working hand-in-hand with you. We continue to redesign this section of the AMA Web site in hopes to meet your Federation membership - marketing needs.

Welcome to the third year of our AMA Your Way Membership Recruitment Program!  AMA Your Way is an online marketing system that allows you to customize and co-brand AMA marketing materials at absolutely no cost to you.  We’ve enhanced the program this year, incorporating much of the feedback we have received from you. 

What’s new for 2008
Our marketing materials will have a fresh new look this year – we’ll also offer some brand new pieces, designed to add significant breadth and, as a result, effectiveness, to our co-marketing efforts.  New features include:

  1. Brochures and flyers that specifically target residents and students
  2. Buckslips and other materials that contain pre-approved physician/medical student testimonials to help strengthen our joint membership ask
  3. An ability to proofread all or part of your records to ensure your data merged correctly when uploading mailing lists for postcards

You will still be able to personalize your state or county society content, or just use what we provide for you.  You can also customize the new student and resident versions as well!  For more information, please contact your account executive.

This section also includes a calendar of all AMA Federation and Direct marketing activities as well as data exclusion deadlines for the 2008 membership year and links to the actual AMA Direct Program Solicitations.
Notes to remember:

  • Actual marketing pieces will be posted as soon as possible after final approval.
  • Time-sensitive marketing materials will be taken off the Web site once outdated.
  • Dates for exclusion file deadlines are listed to avoid duplicate billing within the Federation. We ask that your society report all new SMS members who become AMA members (since the last roster transmission) at least monthly. More frequent transmittals are encouraged.
  • Please adhere to AMA guidelines for the use of the AMA logo, photographs, and copyrighted material.
