Dear Colleague,
I am sending you this e-mail because I thought you would be interested in learning more about the AMA Young Physicians Section and how its programs directly impact you and your practice.
The AMA Young Physicians Section is our advocate--for those of us entering practice, those under 40 who are mid-career, and those over 40 who have been in practice less than eight years. The AMA-YPS supports issues such as prompt payment, deductibility of student loan interest, collective bargaining and fair contracting. It has resources on contracting practices, credentialing, professional liability insurance, mentoring, and career planning. The YPS Web site has links to clinical practice tools, patient care materials and legislative updates.
The AMA-YPS represents us at all levels of organized medicine. A democratic YPS Assembly determines our stance on critical positions. Our elected delegate is our voice in the AMA's House of Delegates, a young physician trustee looks out for our interests on the AMA Board, and young physicians in other critical leadershipspots represent our perspectives relative to e-medicine, medical education and ethics. The AMA-YPS supports local activities through its policy promotion grants, honors community service activities, and provides leadership training to help us become leaders locally or nationally.
For more information please visit the AMA Young Physicians Section Web site. If you are already an AMA member, we thank you for your support and encourage you to become familiar with our activities and actively participate. If you are not, we hope you will join us.
