Chapters earn commissions based on a tiered plan tied to individual recruiting efforts. The more members recruited above your chapters previous years total, the more commission dollars your chapter receives. Or, if you attain or maintain a 70 percent or greater share of first-year medical students, the chapter automatically is awarded the highest payout tier (40 percent).

Fall campaign: All applications and dues received by Nov. 1, 2007, will be applied toward this first round of recruitment. The fall payout is determined by the percentage change from the current years total fall recruitment to last years total fall and spring recruitment, with the earned commission mailed to the chapters in November.
Spring campaign: All applications and dues received by March 14, 2008, will be applied toward the second round of recruitment. The spring payout is determined by the percentage change from last years total fall and spring recruitment to this years fall and spring totals, minus the amount previously received in the first-round check.
e-Bonus: $100 opportunity directly to the recruiter
Submit a minimum of 90 percent of both the fall and spring applications electronically over the MSSOP Web site and you earn a $100 bonus. This $100 is taxable income and should be claimed on appropriate tax returns.
