Prompt payment brochure

e-mail story | print story
The AMA's Private Sector Advocacy unit has published a National Prompt Payment Brochure (PDF, 114KB) that highlights and summarizes the AMA's efforts to address the prompt payment problem across the country.

This brochure discusses the depth of the problem, and how the AMA has played a role in making health plans accountable to patients and physicians.

In addition to the national prompt payment brochure, as part of its Campaign to Promote Timely Payment the AMA is working with state medical associations to develop prompt payment brochures that are state-specific. Brochures were developed to educate both physicians and patients about their state's prompt payment laws. Click on the links below to see samples of the brochures already developed. The AMA worked in conjunction with the MWW Group to develop the brochures listed below.

State medical associations are encouraged to contact Private Sector Advocacy at (312) 464-5490 for more information about how to work with the AMA to develop brochures to promote their prompt payment laws within their state.
