Spotlight

The AMA Caucus on Violence and Abuse takes place from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in the Atlanta Room. This event takes place during the AMA Annual Meeting.

Violence and abuse are major health threats for patients across the lifespan. Physicians are in an influential position to not only intervene and treat victims of violence and abuse, but also to prevent family violence.

In fact, the AMA House of Delegates (HOD) has over eighty policies (PDF, 154KB) directly related to the role of physicians and the AMA in the prevention and intervention of violence and abuse. Join the AMA National Advisory Council on Violence and Abuse to discuss how the AMA-HOD can positively effect this major public health crisis at the AMA Caucus on Violence and Abuse.
