The Linda E. Saltzman Symposium is an annual event in memory of Dr. Saltzman, a scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who succumbed to an untimely death. The purpose of the Saltzman Symposium is to memorialize her standards of excellence by recognizing the achievement of another scholar in the field who has continued to advance knowledge about violence and abuse so that the American Medical Association and all health professionals can prevent further suffering from this major health problem.
