Barney Maynard, MD

Barney Maynard, MD, is a partner and urologic surgeon at Urological Associates, Inc. in Evansville, Indiana. Dr. Maynard also serves as clinical associate professor of Urology at Indiana University School of Medicine.

He has been an American Medical Association (AMA) member since 1981 and has been a delegate to the AMA House of Delegates since 1994. He served as president of the Indiana State Medical Association in 1998 and president of Vanderburgh County Medical Society in 1988. Dr. Maynard served as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Indiana State Medical Association in 1996.

Dr. Maynard is also a member of the American Urological Association, North Central Section American Urological Association, Fellow American College of Surgeons, American Association of Clinical Urologists and the National Association of Corporate Directors.

In 1999, Dr. Maynard received the Governor’s highest honor to an Indiana citizen, “The Sagamore of the Wabash” and was awarded the Distinguished Physician Award in 2002 from the Evansville Center for Medical Education of Indiana University. He is both the founding organizer and Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Evansville.

Dr. Maynard has been a member of the AMA Council on Legislation since 2000 and also serves on the executive committee of the AMA Forum for Medical Affairs. He has been actively involved with the AMA Foundation’s Uniting for the Future of Medicine campaign since its inception as a member of the Steering Committee and currently serves as a leader of the Council on Legislation Honor Fund.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, Dr. Maynard completed his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He was a Surgical/Urological resident at Indiana University Hospitals.

Dr. Maynard lives in Evansville, Indiana with his wife, Kelda. The couple has two children.
