The AMA-Medical Student Section and Resident & Fellow Section, in association with an educational grant from Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative, will be holding the 5th Annual Research Poster Symposium during the AMA Interim Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii. Members of the AMA Council on Science and Public Health, as well as local medical school faculty, will judge the posters, and the overall winner will receive a trip to the AMA Medical Student Section Annual Meeting in Chicago in June 2008. Abstracts are due by 5:00 pm CST on September 21, 2007.

American Heart Association Research funding opportunities
The American Heart Association's National Research Program and its Affiliates offer the Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowships, Clinical Research Program, Fellow-to-Faculty Transition Award, Scientist Development Grant, Beginning Grant-in-Aid, and Grant-in-Aid funding. Also offered are the Pulmonary Hypertension Association Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the AHA-PRT Outcomes Research Centers Grant Program.
