Most of the AMA's policies and activities originate with a resolution. By submitting a resolution for consideration by the AMA-MSS Assembly, you are taking the first step in the democratic policy-making process that makes the AMA strong and relevant to its members.
In order to best serve medical students, both today and in the future, MSS policies must be focused, flexible, and forward-looking. Take some time to learn what makes a strong resolution by reviewing the MSS Resolution Writing Guide (PDF, 44KB) and resolution checklist.
Also keep in mind that writing a resolution may not be the only way to accomplish your goals. There are several alternatives that may be more effective and expedient when trying to affect change on a specific issue such as sending a request to our Governing Council.
