Note: The 2008 COTY application deadline has been extended to May 12, 5 p.m. CDT.

What is the Chapter of the Year Award?
To better recognize the true strength of our organization, our local chapters, the MSS developed the MSS Chapter of the Year Award (COTY). Each spring, a COTY selection committee composed of one member from each Region and the MSS Chair selects finalists and an overall winner from among chapters that apply for the award. The winning chapter receives a $500 grant to be used toward chapter activities and is recognized at the MSS Annual Meeting.

How Can My Chapter Apply for the Chapter of the Year Award?
To apply for the award, complete the COTY application (Word, 181KB) describing how your chapter excels at the goals of the AMA and the MSS. Significant areas of focus should be membership, active membership, community service, advocacy, chapter growth, innovation, and collaboration. AMA staff will report to the selection committee how many current AMA and AMPAC members you have at your school, how many total students you have, and membership trends at your school.

The deadline for applications for the 2008 award is May 12, 5 p.m. (CDT). Finalist schools will be notified by early May and should have a student or group prepared to accept the award when the winner is announced at the 2008 MSS Annual Meeting.
