In addition to AMA's top priority advocacy work on the vital issues of Medicare, managed care, and medical liability reform, we are working and the following other issues important to the practice of medicine.

Medicare reform

The AMA is working with the Bush Administration and congressional leaders in both parties to lay the groundwork for change.

Physician Data Restriction Program (PDRP)

The AMA recognizes that the inappropriate use of prescribing data is a growing concern among physicians and has developed the Physician Data Restriction Program to empower physicians.

Antitrust reform

Antitrust relief is a top priority of the AMA. In addition to our advocacy efforts with legislators and regulators, the AMA also works to educate physicians about the realities of the current antitrust environment.

Funding research and medical education

The AMA is working to ensure that any change in funding for graduate medical education results in an adequate and stable system of financial support.

Resident work hours and working conditions

AMA is committed to advocating for improved resident and fellow working conditions to safeguard residents and their patients.
