Shop around to save money on patient credit payments

One of the best ways to ensure that your practice receives your patients' payment responsibility is to make paying easy for them by offering the option of credit and debit card transactions.

Access the educational resource "Shopping for a credit or debit card merchant agreement" (available to AMA members only) to learn more about accepting credit and debit card payments and how to maximize the benefits of accepting these payments by contracting with a payment processor that suits your practice's specific needs. The resource also notes how you can save on fees with your current processor to help improve your practice's bottom line.

Health disparities a focus of AMA-GLBT meeting

Dionne Hart, MD, and Terrance Hines, MD, joined Saul Levin, MD, the AMA's vice president of science and public health, in leading the discussion.
