Economic Impact Study
Your Advocacy Resource Center spearheaded a study that examines the economic impact that office-based physicians have on a state’s economy, and also how these physicians affect the national economy. With state budgets continuing to drive public policy discussion, sound economic data will help further public discourse on a variety of issues that will affect the future of medicine. Data from the study will provide valuable information, such as:
- The number of jobs supported by physicians in a particular state
- Amount of wages and benefits supported by physician offices
- Output and sales generated by physicians
- Tax revenue generated by physicians
This data can be used in a wide variety of advocacy campaigns, including supporting adequate levels of Medicaid reimbursement to show that states directly benefit when they create a positive practice environment for physicians. This, in turn, ensures patients have better access to health care and a stronger state economy
