2011 State Delegate Allocations

Effective Jan. 1, 2008, AMA bylaws state that the apportionment for each state and specialty society, or federal service, will be two representatives (and no alternate representatives) for each 1,000 members of the Young Physicians Section who are members of the society as recorded by the AMA on Dec. 31 of each year.

The following chart reflects the number of young physician delegates each state medical society receives for 2011. If you, a young physician under 40 years of age or within the first eight (8) years of professional practice after residency and fellowship training, have an interest in serving as a delegate, contact your state medical society to see if this is feasible. If you need to know how to contact your state medical society, e-mail the AMA-YPS or visit the state and county medical societies Web page.
