Important Information on the AMA Women Physicians Section (WPS) Liaisons:
Each participating organization will be entitled to two representatives (a liaison and an alternate liaison).
Prerequisites: 1) Liaisons must be AMA member in good standing; and 2) Liaisons must demonstrate interest in issues impacting women physicians and women's health.
In addition to attending the WPS liaison meetings [(held in conjunction with the Annual and Interim Meetings of the AMA House of Delegates (HOD)], liaisons are expected to engage in AMA-WPS initiatives, including: contribute to policy development through resolution writing and by participating in the AMA-HOD handbook review; exchange relevant information between the AMA-WPS and the liaison organizations; participate in efforts to advance women into leadership positions; and implement local September Women in Medicine (WIM) Month activities.
