AMA-WPC Liaisons
An important component in the success of the AMA Women Physicians Congress (WPC) is our partnership with the federation to expand involvement and advocacy at all levels. We ask that medical societies appoint a AMA-WPC Liaison to join our network of women physician leaders from across the country. If your medical society does not have a AMA-WPC liaison send us an e-mail at wpc@ama-assn.org so that we can provide you with information on appointing a liaison to the AMA-WPC.
The responsibilities of the AMA-WPC Liaisons include:
- Identifying emerging issuesand concerns of women in medicine
- Exchanging relevant information between the AMA-WPC and the Liaison organizations
- Participating in efforts to advance women into leadership positions
- Implementing local September Women in Medicine Month activities
The following are reports and information from some of our AMA-WPC Liaisons who attended the AMA-WPC Liaison networking breakfast at the AMA's Annual meeting in June 2008:
