Promotion, Parity and Progress
The number of women enrolling in medical school has continued to increase over the years. Unfortunately, the number of women physicians in leadership roles has not increased as dramatically with this trend. Although progress has been made, disparities still remain in terms of the number of women receiving promotions, tenure, and other leadership roles.
The WPC is actively compiling information on forward-thinking institutions, initiatives and resources that focus on promoting gender diversity among medical faculty, academic medicine and organized medicine. If you know of a resource or activity that you would like us to consider posting on this Web site send us an e-mail.
