Senior Physicians Section Liaison Meeting

The Senior Physicians Governing Council is committed to building a stronger Senior Physicians Section for the AMA and its members. The group has progressed and is seeking representation from each state on senior-oriented programs that can be presented for discussion at both the Annual and Interim Meetings. These meetings are attended by an increasing number of senior physicians from the HOD, a third of whom are members of the AMA Senior Physicians Section. Representation enhances the effectiveness of our group, and promotes sharing of concerns with other delegates. The liaison meetings are lively and informative. Your feedback is needed as we all approach the many opportunities and issues involving senior physicians.

The main responsibilities of the SPS Liaisons will include:

  1. Identifying emerging issues and concerns of seniors over the age of 65
  2. Exchanging relevant information between the SPS and the senior organizations and
  3. Participating in efforts to advance seniors into leadership positions.

The next meeting of the state liaisons is scheduled for Saturday November 10, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 318B at the Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Please contact Alice Reed at alice.reed@ama-assn.org to confirm your state liaison to the meeting.
